On Pomme de Terre Lake
Pomme de Terre Lake is a shallow lake in Grant County, Minnesota, on the Pomme de Terre River between the towns of Elbow Lake and Ashby. A Minnesota River Basin Data Center table of the river's lakes lists it as DNR lake 26009700, with 1,775.88 acres, classed General Development under the shoreland program. A 2023 fisheries survey summary gives 1,758 acres, a mean depth of 10.0 feet and a maximum depth of 23.0 feet. The river enters in the northwest corner and leaves in the southwest corner. It carries a large load of nutrients and sediment through the lake, and water clarity can be poor after heavy rain and in midsummer. More about Pomme de Terre Lake.
