The Cedar River is a 338-mile river in Minnesota and Iowa. It is a tributary of the Iowa River, which flows to the Mississippi River. The river starts in Dodge County, Minnesota, and runs south for 54 miles through the city of Austin to the Minnesota-Iowa border. The Minnesota part of its watershed covers 592 square miles of mostly farmland in Mower, Freeborn, Dodge and Steele counties. The river joins the Iowa River at Columbus Junction, Iowa.
