On Johns Lake

Johns Lake is a lake of about 2,500 acres on the border of Lake and Orange counties, Florida. It lies about 5 miles southeast of Clermont and about 2 miles southwest of Winter Garden. The Lake County Water Atlas gives a surface area of 2,580 acres and a mean depth of 12 feet, and places the lake in the Ocklawaha River Watershed. Large wetlands on the south and east sides of the lake provide habitat for wading birds and other wildlife. The St. Johns River Water Management District has been working on a minimum flows and levels determination for the lake. More about Johns Lake.
