On Big Pine Lake
Big Pine Lake is a lake of about 4,730 acres in northeastern Otter Tail County, Minnesota, about three miles east of Perham. Its maximum depth is 76 feet, but half of the lake is less than 15 feet deep. The lake belongs to the Otter Tail River watershed and connects to Little Pine and Rush lakes by way of the Otter Tail River. The river flows in along the northwest shoreline and leaves along the west shoreline, and the Toad River enters on the north shore. Homes, cottages and resorts line much of the shore.
